Prof. Vladimir N. Ponomarev – CEO. Prof. Ponomarev is an adviser to the Head of the Housing Committee of the Russian State Senate, and Vice President of the Federation of Russian Developers.

In his prior assignments, Prof. Ponomarev has held numerous positions at the Russian Ministry of Construction, including the Deputy Minister in charge of housing policy and mortgage lending (from 1999 to 2004). In this position, he was one of the authors of the concept of the development of mortgage financing in the Russian Federation, main laws regulating mortgage lending in Russia. Prof. Ponomarev has also chaired the working group in charge of establishing the Regional Mortgage Agencies.

Originally trained as a scientist, Prof. Ponomarev holds a Ph.D. in theoretical and mathematical physics, has 140 scientific publications, has registered ten patents, and is the author of five textbooks. Prior to his career in the Russian Government, he worked in numerous scientific and administrative positions, including Deputy Director of the Atomic Industry Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Science, an adviser to the government of Armenia, and General Representative of the Chelverton Group in Russia.

In addition to his Doctorate in Physics, V.N. Ponomarev also has undergraduate degrees in Economics and Philosophy from Moscow State University, as well as an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Warsaw.

Alexander Kazakov– Chief Legal Counsel. Prior to joining RuMAC, Alex was a senior lawyer at the Moscow based law firm Liniya Prava and Chief Legal Counsel at AHML. He is a member of the group of experts on Mortgage Law and Securitization Law at the Russian Parliament. Alex brings over 8 years of legal experience practicing private and securitization law. One of his most recent achievements was providing legal framework for the first ever Russian law off-balance sheet MBS issue (SovFinTrade) and the first ever Russian law on-balance sheet rouble MBS issue (Bank of Housing Finance).

Alex holds a Law Degree from the Moscow Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) as well as an LL.M. from the University of Leiden, Holland.

Sergei Kaduk – Head of Research. Prior to joining RuMAC, Sergei was a Senior Associate with the KPMG Structured Finance Group in McLean, VA. Sergei has modelled and provided due diligence on numerous MBS, ABS, CDO and NIM transactions, with specialization in whole loan MBS. One of his last assignments at KPMG was advising on the CityMortgage securitization.

Sergei holds an M.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and a B.A. in Economics from Moscow State University as well as an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, with a concentration in Finance.

Sergei is a CFA Level III Candidate.
